What’s the greatest experience for every aviculturist when visits Australian bush? To see black cockatoos, of course! These birds are still very expensive in other parts of the world and so only a few breeders can get them. For me, observing of hundreds of Yellow-tailed cockatoos flying around was definitely one of the best birdwatching experience ever.
During that two months which I have spent in Australia I moved along the east coast. That’s why I couldn’t see White-tailed cockatoos which are found in the west part of Australian continent. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen also any wild Glossy cockatoos even though I have tried to visit some places where this species should occur. On the other hand, I was lucky too see the other three species which you can see in following photos.
Thanks to Gordon Dosser who showed me right places to see Yellow-tailed and Gang-gang cockatoos!
