A well known aviculturist and ornithologist Tony Silva came to the Czech Republic to promote his new book Psittaculture which was released on Sunday in the Czech language. Tony also used of the opportunity to come on the national Czech aviculture convention Kozovazy which took place in Kozovazy – a village located near to Prague – and lecture on his 40 years long aviculture career. The speech took almost 2 hours and was very interesting. It included information about his personal research of natural nutrional requirement in constrast of today’s commericial diets composition. He had also mentioned the most important parts of his career including his experience from Loro Parque where he worked as a curator.
Tony visited our country for the third time and spent here three days. At this time he had a chance to see collections with very rare parrot species of several breeders which he hasn’t seen before. We are looking forward to see this great guy and aviculturist again, thank you Tony!
