The Czech Republic is part of CITES convention since 1993. We are happy to announce that our partner website Ararauna.cz got data of the first half-year of 2015 from the Czech government with permission to publish. However, in following statistics there are included only birds registered after 2004 because before that we hadn’t any central registry and breeders registered their birds in the region they lived. So we can say that following statistics are not complete but anyway you can see some interesting trends in breeding.
Golden conures became one of the most popular “CITES I” parrots in the Czech Republic within the last couple of years. In following table you can see that the greatest increase (38 new birds) in total number of kept individuals was obvious in this species in the first half-year of 2015.
In total there are 125 Hyacinth Macaws in the Czech Republic but the most common “CITES I” macaw is the Scarlet Macaw. The rest of changes in comparison with previous half-year you can read in the table:
